Bruckner: Symphony No. 9

In this video

Immediately after finishing the first version of his eight symphony in 1887, Anton Bruckner began working on his ninth. Symphony No. 9 in D Minor WAB 109, is the last symphony Bruckner worked on. After many revisions of other works Bruckner completed the first movement in 1893, six years after starting on it. He began writing the second movement in 1889 and finished it early 1894. The third movement was completed late 1894. Bruckner died during work on the fourth movement, before completing the symphony. Bruckner dedicated this symphony ‘dem lieben Gott’ (to the beloved God).

Composer: Anton Bruckner
