Jacob van Eyck’s variations on John Dowland’s Lachrymae, performed on the renaissance flute by Kate Clark.
4K ultra high definition video from Voices of Music.
Van Eyck’s compositions form the core of the recorder repertory in the 17th century, and his book “Der Fluyten Lust-hof” is the largest and one of the most comprehensive works for a solo wind instrument in the literature of Western music. Van Eyck’s works are usually performed on the recorder, but his book specifically mentions performance on the flute as an option.
