Hey everyone~! We funded this project! We raised enough to record Winter from the Four Seasons, but we are still well short of our goal to record the whole set of four concertos. You can still donate, for this or any other project; please consider a donation, http://www.voicesofmusic.org/donate.html
and we will make more videos like this one 🙂 We need your help
!Voices of Music is a pioneer in filming classical music for streaming on the internet and is one of the best music ensembles in the world. More than 16 million viewers worldwide have watched our videos, and we have introduced a whole new generation to classical music. Directors Hanneke van Proosdij and David Tayler believe that we need to revitalize music and the arts not only to raise awareness but also to reverse the trend of cutbacks in the schools. We feel strongly that the imaginative use of the internet and the creative energy of our artists is an important part of this process. In the last few years, our audience has experienced tremendous growth around the world, in all age groups, and currently our largest and fastest-growing audience is in the age range of 25-35 years old: this is unparalleled in the classical music world. We make video and audio recordings which can be studied or enjoyed at home on a computer, tablet or even a smartphone, and they also can be projected in a classroom, auditorium or theatre. We will make available supplementary notes and historical background, all free.
This Kickstarter project will enable us to record one of the four concertos of Vivadi’s Four Seasons on original instruments, performed by some of the finest musicians in the world today. This project will result in professionally edited videos as well as an audiophile soundtrack. The video will be released on a single Blu-Ray compatible disc of high-definition video, as well as a 4K Ultra High Definition video, and a DVD, and we will also put the completed video online for viewing over the internet. This recording is part of our Great Works Project, our long term plan to make music videos and recordings available for anyone, anywhere in the world.
If we raise money above our target goal of $8,000, we will use these funds to record more concertos from the Four Seasons. If we reach $32,000, we will record the entire set of concertos. Voices of Music will kick in money and resources to ensure that this project will be completed, but we can’t do it alone; we need your help. Your contribution, in whatever amount, is essential to moving this project forward. Your donation will be a permanent gift to the world that can be shared by everyone. The more money we raise, the more we will add to our musical library and yours. Voices of Music is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit, so for those living in the USA your donation is fully tax-deductible.
Our Great Works Project draws upon our unique qualifications in video, performance, musicology and internet technology. Voices of Music makes detailed historical recreations of each work, right down to the original instruments and musical techniques, by researching the history, art and culture of the time period in which the work was first created. Our performances can therefore be used in history and music history classes. Most importantly, however, we make good music. Our experience has shown that compelling, vibrant performances captured in concert videos and combined with the power of the internet draws an audience ever deeper into the world of music.
We’re on a roll, and we invite you to be part of our team.
